Mae P. Schwarten, 95, of Wakefield, formerly of Concord, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon. The Rev. Matthew Capadano will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord. Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon with a Vigil Service to follow.
Memorials may be directed to Mae’s family for later designation.

Mae Phyllis Pearson - Schwarten was born Jan. 10, 1930 in Concord to Fred Dietrick and Helena Katherine (Mecke) Salmon. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Mae married Nels Dale Pearson on Jan. 20, 1951 in Wayne. They farmed near Concord and Mae was a farm wife. Over the years, she also was employed as a cook at several places, including Bills Market Basket in Wayne and Laurel-Concord Schools. Mae married Merle Schwarten on Nov. 14, 1998 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon. The couple lived in Wakefield.
Survivors include her children, Duane (Jean) Pearson of Lincoln and Paul (Heather) Pearson of Omaha, Leila (Richard) Fischer of Wakefield and June Burns of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Garvin of Dixon; stepdaughter, Kathy (Randy) Bird of Wakefield; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Nels Dale Pearson in 1995, and Merle Schwarten in 2015; granddaughter, Jayme Fischer; siblings, Frederick W. Salmon, Allen Salmon, Ilene Andersen, Irene Manto, Helen Hattig, Leo Salmon, Harold Salmon, Elmer Salmon, Lucille Taylor, Caroline Gordon, Leonard Salmon, Kenneth Salmon, Dean Salmon and spouses; step-sons, Doug Schwarten, Brad Schwarten and Randy (Christine) Still; and step-granddaughter, Megan Schwarten; brother-in-law, John Virgil (Avis) Pearson.
