Marla M. Carmichael, 50, of Norfolk, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Funeral services for will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10 at First Christian Church in Norfolk. Officiating the service will be Pastor Randall Coffin. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m., Friday, also at First Christian Church. The family asks that everybody wear pink to Marla's funeral, her favorite color.
Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation.

Marla M. Carmichael was born May 18, 1974 in Lynch to Richard and Lynette (Sieh) Carmichael. The family grew up in Butte until moving to Wayne in 1978. She attended Wayne Special Ed Program, graduating in 1995. Marla lived in Wayne for 32 years before she and her parents moved to Norfolk in 2014. She loved God, family, friends, music, special Olympics, the color pink, and the holidays.
Marla also enjoyed car rides, McDonalds, playing bingo, TV shows; Sesame Street, Hee Haw, The Andy Grifith Show, as well as the movie “Love Comes Softly”. Marla loved Jesus and to pray, she taught her family the love a hug can create. She was a fighter and handled many illnesses. Marla was a member of First Christian Church in Norfolk, and a former member of Journey Christian Church in Wayne.
Survivors include her parents, Richard and Lynette Carmichael; brother, Kirk Carmichael (Kristi) children: Brynn, Kyler, and Brielle; brother, Wade Carmichael (Joy) children: Griffin, Spencer, Calvin, Ruby all of Norfolk; uncle, Ken Suing; cousins Jeff, Greg and their families; cousin Sarah (Aric) Hamilton, their daughter C.J., and a special friend, Jackie Young.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don and Marie Carmichael and Earl and Darlene Sieh; an aunt, Donna Suing and uncle and aunt, Garlyn (Jean) Sieh.
Casket bearers will be Richard Carmichael, Kirk Carmichael, Wade Carmichael, Kyler Carmichael, Griffin Saunders, and Jeff Suing. Honorary casket bearer will be Greg Suing.
