Marsha (Von Seggern) Buchanan, 53, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Wayne, died Friday May 30, 2025 after an illness.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Marsha’s family requests memorials be sent to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis Tennessee or Wildland Firefighter Foundation, Boise, Idaho.

Arrangements are with Haseman Funeral Home in Wayne.

Marsha Jean (Von Seggern) Buchanan was born Dec. 11, 1971 in Pender to Ronald and Margaret (Starzl) Von Seggern. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Wayne High School in 1990.

 Marsha married Stanley Buchanan Dec. 7, 1991. Their son, Lee, was born in 1992. Marsha shared a special bond with her son as they explored the unique and interesting places the family lived. Their eight years in the Washington, D.C. area held the Smithsonians, Museums, Monuments, Federal Buildings and history. From there the family lived in National Parks where both Marsha and Stan were employed. Their next move was to Boise, Idaho, where Marsha used her great organizational skills working for the Bureau of Land Management. She was dedicated to her position in the support of Firefighters in the field, her service and support had no limits. 

Marsha was a phenomenal chef. Nothing pleased her more than to fill her home with Stan’s fellow Marines, family and friends and serving everyone an exceptional meal.

Survivors include her husband, Stan, and son, Lee, of Boise, Idaho; mother, Margaret (Dennis) Turner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, sisters and their families: Lynn (Tim) Sievers, Cole and Amber of Papillion, Eileen Harmer (Gary Skotvold), Nathan and Brooke of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Diane Von Seggern (Brad McNamara) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; step-brothers, Bryan Turner and Scott Turner; mother-in-law, Linda (Gary) Small of Tombstone, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Von Seggern in 1990; grandparents, Louis and Mary Starzl and Donald and Marian Von Seggern.
