Mason Ley of Wayne is part of the seventh class of the Investors With Purpose program in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Business.

Ley, a junior majoring in finance, is among 25 students learning about investing and wealth management while building relationships with industry professionals.

Applicants must meet academic requirements, including a minimum 3.5 grade-point average and prerequisite coursework, and describe their career goals and activities that demonstrate leadership potential in school and the community.

The semester-long course features weekly investment industry speakers and networking socials. Students gain mentorship and opportunities to apply for paid investment internships, including positions with the University of Nebraska Foundation.

Nebraska alumnus Douglas Waggoner founded the program after 25 years as a senior leader at BlackRock and supports it through the Douglas and Karin Waggoner Family Foundation.
