Both Wayne and Wakefield American Legion baseball teams along with several youth teams, including the Wayne Didget tourney team will take part in the Max Greve Wood Bat Tourney this weekend.
Legion games will be played in Wakefield on June 5 and in both Wayne and Wakefield June 6-7. All Pony, Bronco and Didget games will be held in Wakefield.
Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 will open Senior American Legion Pool B play on June 6.
From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, the Wayne Srs will face Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells at 10 a.m. and host Sutton at 8 p.m.
The Post 43 Jrs will take part in Pool B in Wakefield against Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells first on June 5 at 4 p.m. followed by a home game in Wayne against Sutton at noon on June 6.
Post 81 will showcase a seniors-only team hosting Pool A games at Eaton Field beginning with a June 5 outing at 8 p.m. The Wakefield Srs will also face Malcolm at 8 p.m. the following night.
Pool play champions will face each other on June 7 culminated by the Juniors and Seniors Max Greve Wood Bat finals at 5/7 p.m. in Wakefield.
In the 10 & Under portion of the tourney, the Wayne Didget tourney team will be in action on June 6-7.
In Pool A, Wayne will face Wakefield on June 6 at 4 p.m. before also facing O'Neill at 4 p.m. on June 7.
The two pool winners will compete in the finals at 5:30 p.m. Sunday night in Wakefield.
