Mid State Conference Tournament brackets are out with Wayne High girls and boys preparing for first round action.
Ahead of Tuesday’s road trip to North Bend, the Wayne High girls are 9-9 and recently snapped a two-game losing streak with a 41-30 home win vs. Cedar Catholic last Friday while the Blue Devil boys have won two straight entering 15-2 following a 55-38 home victory over Cedar Catholic last Friday.

Mid State Conference play-in games will open on Saturday, Feb. 1 with Wayne hosting the girls and Battle Creek hosting the boys division games.
In Wayne, the Ponca girls (8-9) will open at 2:30 p.m. against Boone Central (7-9) followed by Wayne vs. Norfolk Catholic (5-11).
In Battle Creek, the Battle Creek boys (9-8) will open at 3:30 p.m. against Crofton (3-14) followed by Pierce (4-11) vs. GACC (3-11).
First round Mid State Conference girls division games will open on Monday, Feb. 3 in Crofton and West Point (GACC).
Crofton (15-2) will await the Ponca/Boone Central winner at 6 p.m. followed by Pierce (12-5) vs. O’Neill (10-5). GACC (14-2) will await the Wayne/Norfolk Catholic winner at 6 p.m. followed by Battle Creek (13-5) vs. Cedar Catholic (9-7).
Winner’s bracket games will be played at Cedar Catholic (Hartington) on Thursday, Feb. 6 with fifth place, consolation and finals on Saturday, Feb. 8 also in Hartington. A trio of loser’s bracket games will be played at Boone Central on Thursday, Feb. 6.
