Pender Community Center announced that their Dodge, Dine and Dance event scheduled for Saturday, April 4 has been postponed to a later date.
PMC’s We Care Education Group start date delayed
Providence Medical Center’s We Care Education Group, for caregivers of those living with memory loss or cognitive changes was supposed to start in May. PMC has decided to postpone the start date.
WSC cancels World Speech Day
The Fourth Annual World Speech Day, Tuesday, March 17 in the Kanter Student Center Atrium at Wayne State College is called off.
Little Red Hen Theatre postpones production
According to a release from Little Red Hen Theatre, “Nana’s Naughty Knickers” will be postponed.
“The health and well-being of all our patrons, audience members and volunteers are important to us! Because of the rapidly evolving situation surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and recent guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we have decided to postpone our production of Nana’s Naughty Knickers until May 8 – 10,” T. Adam Goos, theatre manager said.
Reservations for tickets will move from the March dates to the May dates. Goos said if ticket holders would like to select a different performance to another production or would like to donate their tickets as a charitable donation, to contact the theatre at (402)287-2818.
Wayne Community Schools’ prom postponed
Wayne Community Schools announced they have decided to postpone prom until a later date. mywaynenews.com will release the rescheduled date when it becomes available.

The Wayne Senior Center will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17th until further notice for in-house dining and all social activities. The Center will continue to offer Meals on Wheels and curb-side drive up service for noon meals.
Please call the center at (402) 375-1460 for complete details and information on how the meal process will work. Staff will be available at the center to take your calls Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Runza to offer Drive-Thru service only
As of Monday, March 16, Runza restaurants will only offer drive-thru service and all stores will close at 9 p.m.
City of Wayne moves City Council meeting
Monday (March 16) the City of Wayne announced a venue change for the Tuesday, March 17 council meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wayne’s City Council meeting will now be held at the City Auditorium. The change was made to allow the public to keep more space between those attending the meeting.
