Additional funding for the Wayne County Museum was requested ahead of upcoming budget work sessions along with lengthy discussion on employee raises during the regularly scheduled June 2 Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Inside the Public Annex next to the Wayne County Courthouse presented a handful of visitors in support of an early agenda item for the Wayne County Historical Museum.
The group would like to increase what they would receive for the next fiscal year to cover lawn maintenance along with future snow removal for the winter months and just the upkeep to make the grounds look presentable. This would also cover heating and air conditioning.
Towards the end of the agenda offered discussion back-and-forth on trying to find the right way to award those with a one-time longevity pay who have been working for Wayne County for years based on three levels.
The inflation rate per the social security is 2.8% and Commissioner Matt Eischeid provided details on a 2.75% pay increase for road workers who have worked one to five years rather than a dollar amount across the board.
The next regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting will be on June 16 with a site location to be determined.
