Presentation number 12 of 35 highlighting the role of parents in education-based athletics was shared with roughly 40 in attendance on August 15.
From Hahn Auditorium in the Wayne Jr/Sr High School, Executive Director of the Nebraska Coaches Association Darin Boysen spent roughly an hour highlighting topics from Proactive Coaching books written by Bruce Brown.
From defining the problem, before the season, during the game/event to after a game/event, positive thoughts were shared.
A nationwide stat on smartphones was also highlighted that the average age of 10.6, a youth has a smart phone.
Information to parents was shared to let their son/daughter have that experience during their game/event and let the coaches push them.
Failure isn't always the end of the line. Trust can be built to make your son/daughter stronger.
As a parent, make sure you support the entire team, not just your son/daughter.
As you arrive to an event, there will be competitors, coaches and officials and then there are spectators. As the saying goes, let the players play, the coaches coach and officials officiate.
The first presentation Boysen delivered was on July 31 in Hastings which he planned on traveling to several Nebraska schools over a 29-day period.
