The Nebraska Military Department and the City of Wayne have formed a new partnership to better support service members, veterans and the community, while also strengthening emergency response capabilities for all residents.

Two public events were held Sept. 16 with members of the Nebraska Military Department, the Wayne Mayors' Offices and potential guests from the Governor's office.

Lt. Governor Kelly commended the Wayne Community on the Veterans Memorial, calling it "A+"

Mayor Brodersen thanked all those who have served in the armed forces throughout this community's history and encouraged all, whether in the military or not to "ask not what your community can do for you, ask what you can do for your community" in regard to service.
