A familiar face is back on the Wayne City Council after action taken during Monday's meeting.

Christopher Woehler was approved to represent Ward 2 of the city. His appointment comes after the resignation of Matt Eischeid earlier this year.

Woehler has served on the council previously and has filed for election for this year's primary election.

Two ordinances received second reading approval and the third reading of each waived during the meeting.

Council members approved a resolution accepting a bid for the Northeast/Centennial Road substation site grading project.

The bid of $421,434.30 from Detlefsen Construction of Laurel was the lowest of the nine bids received. These bids came from firms throughout Nebraska and South Dakota and ranged from the low bid from Detlefsen Construction to the high of $978,245.00 from High Plains Structural Group, LLC in Lincoln.

The Wayne City Council will hold a mini-retreat on Monday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the 1100 Building and will next meet in regular session on Monday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m. in Council chambers.
