Both Wayne and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge were represented during the third and final day of the 2025 Elkhorn Valley Bank & Trust Wayne Holiday Tournament on Dec. 31.
From Rice Auditorium, the Wayne girls earned a third place finish recording a 34-32 win over Pierce while the Blue Devils boys were crowned champion thanks to a double overtime 57-56 victory over Pierce.
The Blue Devil girls (7-3) and boys (7-2, winner's of six straight) will next travel to Douglas County West on Jan. 3 at 2:30/4 p.m.
From Wayne High School, the LCC girls finished fifth thanks to a 70-52 win against Cedar Catholic while the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys earned a seventh place following a bye (only seven teams in division).
The LCC girls (6-3) will host Archbishop Bergan on Jan. 2 during a girls only contest starting at 6 p.m. while the boys (3-5, four-game losing streak) will next travel to Elkhorn Valley with the girls on Jan. 6 starting at 4 p.m.
