Norman Anderson, 96,  of Concord, died Sunday, Nov.  29, 2015 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge.

Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord. The Rev. Sarah Ruch will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church with family present. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord.

Norman Immanuel Anderson was born April 23, 1919 on a farm near Concord, the youngest of ten, to Nels O. and Anna (Johnson) Anderson.  He graduated from Concord High School in 1937 and was the last surviving member of that graduating class.  Norman and Betty met on a blind date, the love of each other’s life. They married June 24, 1953, at Bassett.  They farmed south of Concord, moving into Concord in 1962.  For 20 years, Norman served as the Postmaster at the Concord Post Office.  The couple moved to The Oaks in Wayne in the fall of 2007 and to Park View Haven in Coleridge in April 2011. Norman was active in the Northeast Nebraska Arboretum and Concord Volunteer Fire Department. He served as a Dixon County Commissioner, on the Church Board at Concordia, president of the NAPUS Association, Dixon County Fair Board, and on the Concord - Dixon Sr. Citizens Board. He loved to work in his flower beds and garden, sharing the abundance of blooms and produce to friends and neighbors.


Survivors include his daughters,   Glennis (Doug) Treptow of Rogers, Ark. and Alvina Stanley of Dixon; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law,  Rosina (Dayton) Olson of Estes Park, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty in 2011; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Anna and  Rev. Dr. Albert Sieck, Jr; a granddaughter, Ruth Elizabeth Sieck; and two brothers, seven sisters, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Honorary pallbearers will be Verdel Erwin, Ernie Swanson, Roy Stohler and Marlen Johnson.

Active pallbearers will be Brad Erwin, Rick Peterson, Warren Hanson, John Etter, Tom Etter, Dwight Anderson and Aaron Dietrich.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
