Northeast Nebraska Crush 10u capture second in Des Moines

Four games were played over a two-day period for the Northeast Nebraska Crush 10u youth baseball team.

From Des Moines, Iowa, Crush 10u competed in the CIS Stars & Strikes Tournament May 24 - 25.

To open the weekend, Crush 10u won 16-1 over Iowa Strikes 10u followed by a 17-2 victory against Altoona Wolves Summer/Spring '25. Moving into Sunday, Crush 10u won 11-3 against Angels Baseball Club but suffered an 8-7 loss to DSM Avengers in the finals.

The Northeast Nebraska Crush earned a runner-up finish and are now 16-2 on the season. 

Leaders at the plate were Ryan Magnuson with eight hits (seven singles, one double) along with six RBI and joined Kyson Garcia, Max Wohlers and Andrew Smith all with six runs scored.

Magnsuon (62 pitches) worked four and two-thirds among the 16 total innings pitched in two appearances with one start. He allowed six earned runs off nine hits while striking out two batters and walking one. Garcia (58) followed with four and a third innings on the hill appearing in two games and starting one. He allowed one earned run off two hits while striking out five batters and walking three. 

Next up for Crush 10u will be games on Saturday, May 31 against the Lincoln Expos 10u and 10u Jr. Jays.
