Following just over a week off from competition, the Northeast Nebraska Crush 8u youth baseball team returned to the diamond.
From the Wildcat Dome on the campus of Wayne State College, Crush 8u entertained Outlaws (Moore) 8u on May 27.
The Crush secured wins of 15-3 and 15-0 to improve to 1-6 on the season.
In the first win, Crush 8u began with three runs in the bottom of the first followed by a six-run second inning. The Crush outscored Outlaws (Moore), 6-3 in the final inning to win 15-3. Crush 8u won the hit department, 10-3 and didn't commit an error compared to one by their opponent.
Knox Koch singled twice, doubled and drove in five runs; Nolan Plager singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored three times; Jaxon Herbert doubled, drove in three runs and scored as Tanner Heithold doubled and drove in a run.
Kannon Kalin singled and scored three times; Luke Williamson singled, drove in a run and scored three times; Bentlee Nelson singled, drove in a run and scored; Ethan Valenzuela accounted for a RBI and run scored; Trexton Ocampo added a RBI; Titus Hansen scored twice. as Kaiser Woehler scored.
Valenzuela (49 pitches) started the opening two innings allowing one hit while striking out six batters, walking two and hitting one. Koch (24) worked an inning allowing three earned runs off two hits while striking out one batter and walking two. Plager (12) closed out the final inning striking out two batters.
During the second outing, Crush 8u produced six runs in the first inning, four more runs in the second and closed with a five-run home half of the third inning. Final favored the Crush winning 15-0 while outhitting Outlaws (Moore), 17-1. Neither team committed an error.
Luke Williamson singled twice, doubled, drove in five runs and scored twice; Plager added three singles, a RBI and run scored; Heithold tripled, drove in a run and scored twice; Woehler tripled and drove in a run as Ocampo doubled, drove in a run and scored.
Herbert singled twice, drove in two runs and scored three times; Kalin singled twice and scored three runs; Valenzuela and Koch both singled, drove in a run and scored; Nelson singled, drove in two runs and scored as Titus H singled.
Hansen (17) started the opening inning striking out three batters and walking one. Herbert (11) worked an inning striking out two batters. Kalin (21) pitched an inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters and walking one. Ocampo (25) closed out the final inning striking out three batters and walking two.
The Northeast Nebraska Crush 8u youth baseball team will next face Columbus Mariners 8u on Sunday, June 1 during a doubleheader.
