A few notes have been provided by Zac Braun from the Wayne Community Activity Center and Wayne Aquatic Center.
With the pool season nearing an end, the Wayne pool will close on Sunday, August 10. Lifeguards and city officials would like to thank everyone for a great year and they look forward to seeing you next season.
As the fall sports season for the youth start up, Rec football and volleyball sign-ups will close on August 10.
Cost for flag football is $30 for members and $35 for non-members starting approximately August 25 for kindergarten through fourth grade students. Youth will receive t-shirts.
Cost for tackle football is $70 for members and $75 for non-members starting approximately August 11 for those in fifth and sixth grade.
An additional $5 will be added if registering after the August 10 deadline.
Cost for third and fourth grade volleyball is $30 for members and $35 for non-members and be combined, with teams made up of mixed grade levels. Games will be played against other Wayne teams with no tournaments or outside leagues (similar to rec basketball, softball, baseball).
Cost for fifth and sixth grade volleyball is $40 for members and $45 for non-members which include all tournament fees. Fifth and Sixth grade separate teams will play each other in a weekly league or in two to four tournaments (similar to last year).
Also, a registration deadline is Wednesday, August 13 for the Junior Blue Devil Cheer Club. A fee of $60 is required which includes a skirt rental as well as a t-shirt and bows to keep. Fall cheerleaders will receive 50% off their winter registration fee.
A $5 late fee will be added if registering following the August 13 deadline.
Junior Blue Devil Cheer Club practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 - 5 p.m. and offered for those in third to fourth grade.
