NSAA cancels spring activities

The news for senior athletes is not good today, as the Nebraska School Activities Association has cancelled all of its spring activities, including district and state competition.

In a release e-mailed to the Herald, NSAA executive director Jay Bellar said, :All remaining NSAA activity practices and competitions, including district and state competitions, have been cancelled for this school year. These cancellations are part of a new Directed Health Measure issued by Governor (Pete) Ricketts."

Summer activities, as outlined in the NSAA manual, goes into effect on May 26 and schools are expted to follow those rules defined as school-year, out-of-season.

The NSAA continues to encourage all member schools to follow CDC, local, state and federal health department recommendations.
