Classes A and B NSAA Individual State Wrestling qualifiers will be amongst the first-ever girls-only state championships.
From the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha, the 2025 NSAA State Wrestling girls championship schedule will open on Tuesday, Feb. 18 and conclude on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Wayne will send five to state along with Wakefield qualifying one.
Wayne qualifiers are sophomore Essynce Owens-Webb (100), 29-6; junior Serenity Heil-Ellis (125), 25-15; junior Nyla Bolles (135), 36-4; sophomore Anna Naeve (145), 27-8 and senior Kadence Rees (155), 29-12.
Wakefield’s lone qualifier will be freshman Naomi Nelson (135), 18-8.
Weigh-ins will be at 2:30 p.m. for both classes on Feb. 18 with first session matches to begin at 4 p.m. followed by quarterfinal matches also Tuesday.
Moving into Feb. 19, weigh-ins are set for 7:30 a.m. beginning with first round consolation matches at 9 a.m. Second round consolation matches will follow with the semifinals and third round consolation matches set for 12:30 p.m. Consolation semifinals will follow along with third and fifth place matches being held late Wednesday afternoon.
The 2025 NSAA Girls State Wrestling Championship finals will showcase two mats starting at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19.
District competition will open this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 – 15 for boys wrestling. The 2025 NSAA State Wrestling Championships for the boys will also be at the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha from Thursday, Feb. 20 – Saturday, Feb. 22.
