Essynce Owens-Webb represented Nebraska and young woman wrestlers everywhere as she competed at the Twin Rivers National Duals and took home All-American Status.

At the competition, Owens-Webb wrestled as part of the Spider Women in the team three division. Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) coaches picked the wrestler from Wayne specifically to compete against girls who placed second or third in their state divisions this past season. She went 7-1 that day, pinning five and winning the other two with points. The team became AAU National Progressive Champions.

Following that competition, Essynce was picked to move up to team two on the Disney Duals team and will compete in June down in Florida.

"The competition will be tough but this will be a great opportunity," said Jonathan Webb, Essynce's father.

There, she will wrestle against teams from Iowa, Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Georgia, South Dakota and a few more states.

The Owens-Webb family is currently looking for any sort of donations from local businesses and community members to help Essynce make the trip to Florida. To donate, contact the family at 402-369-0365 or Venmo @niowens.
