Megan Phillips and Chloe Schlines represent Wayne State on the 2021 Northern Sun Conference All-Conference women’s soccer team, with both making the Second Team.
Phillips, a 5-foot-7 senior midfielder, had two goals and one assist for five points while starting all 18 games this season. She led the Wildcats in shots (30) and tied for second in shots on goal (15). Phillips scored goals at Northwest Missouri State (Sept. 5) and vs. Northwestern Oklahoma State (Sept. 12) and had an assist against Minnesota State (Sept. 17). She also ranked second on the team in minutes played this season at 1,494.
Schlines, a 5-foot-9 junior defender, started all 18 games this season and recorded one goal and two points. She scored a goal in Wayne State’s 3-2 win at Southwest Minnesota State on Oct. 8 and finished the season with seven shots and two shots on goal while leading the Wildcats in minutes played with 1,629. Schlines anchored a Wildcat defense that posted five shutouts this season.
Wayne State finished the 2021 season with records of 6-8-4 overall and 6-6-3 in NSIC games, good for ninth place in the league.
