Plans underway for Old Settlers, 250 Years - Red, White and Blue

Area residents are being encouraged to make plans to attend this year's Winside Old Settlers events, scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 18-21.

This year's celebration kicks off Thursday, June 18  with Nebraska historian Jeff Barnes’s presentation of "Custer & the Great Plains: History, Landscape and Legacy.”

Saturday's events start with a Bloody Mary Bar at Wildcat Bar & Grill at 9 a.m.

The Winside Alumni Banquet will be held at the Winside Auditorium from 5 to 9 p.m. with classes ending in "6" to be honored.

Sunday's (June 21) events  include A Food Court in the Winside Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Homemade pies, sandwiches, snacks and drinks will be available.

The 11th annual Gene Topp Memorial Car Show will be held on Main Street from 1 to 4 p.m. with the presentation of Colors by American Legion Post #252 at 1 p.m.

One of the highlights of June 21 will be the Parade of Wheels at 2 p.m. on Main Street. This year's theme is "250 Years - Red, White and Blue." Youth may enter two-wheeled, three-wheeled, four-wheeled and battery operated entries.
