Everyone is encouraged to 'Think Pink" and plan to attend the annual Pink Flamingo event on Thursday, Oct. 12.

This year's event will revolve around the theme "Cheers for the Girls" and will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne.

It includes a light supper (serving begins at 5:30 p.m.), along with entertainment, information and fellowship. Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to wear pink.

Lisa (Walton) Berge will be sharing her breast cancer story and the Heavenly Hens will perform.

Two quilts will be raffled off. These will be on display at State Nebraska Bank from Sept. 7 - 14; Elkhorn Valley Bank from Sept. 15 - 21 and F&M Bank in Wayne from Sept. 22 - 29. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at these locations.

Providence Medical Center will provide information on cancer prevention, a wine bar will be available and music will be enjoyed.

A variety of vendors will have items for sale in the upstairs portion of the church. Door prizes from these vendors will be given away throughout the evening.

Tickets go on sale for the event on Friday, Sept. 9 and can be purchased at all the banks in Wayne, Missa Sue's in Laurel, The Quilt Store in Wakefield, Midwest Bank in Pilger  and at the church office. Several other businesses in Wayne will have tickets available also.

Funds raised this year will go toward the purchase of a Vein Finder  for Providence Medical Center.
