The Wayne High Blue Devil Power Drive team hosted the 2026 EVERON Power Drive State Championships on May 2 at 1100 east 10th Street (former FNBO call center) in Wayne.
Standard class car S95 driven by Wyatt Hawkins and Abby Allvin competed in four preliminary events prior to the 90 minute endurance rally.
In the endurance rally, car S95 finished in first place with 116 laps and a five lap lead. This rally win capped off a perfect season of all first place finishes in Endurance competition.
In the Overall category, the S95 received enough points throughout the day to be awarded the 2026 Standard Class State Champion. This is the third Standard Class Championships the Blue Devils have won.
Exhibition class cars only compete in the endurance competition.
The E22 car, driven by Mason Blickenstaff, the E39 car, driven by Josh Doring, and the E107 car, driven by Allan Brenner traded first through fourth place during the first 15 minutes of the race.
Car E107 finished in fourth place with 123 laps. Car E22 finished in third place, also with 123 laps. Car E39 finished in first place with 145 laps and a 12 lap lead, earning the Exhibition Class State Champion. This is the 10th State Championship for Car 39. Car E39 was also awarded with Best Paint along with Highest Season Mileage. This is the fourth time the 39 has received this award since it began in 2019.
