Powicki, Kramer with double-doubles during home sweep

A 10th consecutive home match was played on the home court of Wayne High.

From the Wayne Jr/Sr High School gymnasium, the Blue Devils welcomed West Point-Beemer on Tuesday.

In a back-and-forth battle late in the final two sets, the host Blue Devils secured the 3-0 sweep. Wayne High is now 12-9 on the season as the Cadets fell to 11-9.

Earlier in the season, Wayne won 2-0 over West Point-Beemer during the Jean Groth Classic on Sept. 7.

Wayne High went 5-5 during their 10-match homestand dating back to September 17.

Scores of the match favored WHS 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.

Junior Elle Powicki recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs along with junior Haley Kramer with 10 kills and 11 digs; sophomore Mallory Redden posted 39 assists, six digs, one block and one kill as sophomore Addison Frank led the team in digs with 16. Junior Jacen Hasemann also had 10 digs.

Senior Amelia Legler followed with nine kills and one block; sophomore Alexis Legler tallied eight kills, four digs and one block as sophomore Naomi Lipp tacked on five kills, two digs and two blocks (one solo).

Hasemann finished with five service aces as Kramer, Amelia Legler and Redden all had an ace.
