Several motions presented by the state prosecutors were granted by Judge Michael Long during a pre-trial hearing in Wayne County District Court last week in regard to the murder trial for Carl Ruskamp.
Among these were to exclude law enforcement from sequestration.
Also, the state presented evidence in the form of exhibits and witness testimony on the matter of the state's motion to bar testimony regarding periods of prior mental incompetence.
His trial is set to begin with jury selection in Wayne County on Monday, July 20. A request by the defense in June to move the trial out of Wayne County was denied.
