Providence Medical Center (PMC) has announced the opening of its new Walk-In Clinic, designed to provide accessible, after-hours care for Wayne and the surrounding communities. The clinic officially opened its doors on Aug. 20.
The Walk-In Clinic offers convenient evening and weekend hours, giving patients access to timely care for urgent—but non-emergency—needs. This resource is especially valuable for individuals who cannot easily miss work during the day and for families whose children become ill outside of regular clinic hours.
“We’ve listened to our community and understand the challenges many face when seeking care after work or school hours,” said Nicole Haglund, CEO of Providence Medical Center. “The Walk-In Clinic allows us to be more responsive and accessible, offering timely care for those urgent—but not emergent—needs, while also reducing unnecessary visits to the Emergency Room.”
The Walk-In Clinic is designed to treat a wide range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, including:
• Minor infections (ear, throat, sinus, urinary tract)
• Cold and flu symptoms
• Sprains, strains, and minor fractures
• Cuts, scrapes, and minor wounds
• Rashes and minor skin conditions
The Emergency Room remains the appropriate setting for life-threatening or severe conditions such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, sudden weakness or numbness, or other medical emergencies.
"With the launch of this service, PMC continues its commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care close to home," Haglund added.
Walk-In Clinic Hours:
• Weekdays: 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
• Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Sundays: 12:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.
No appointment is necessary—patients may simply walk in through the Main Hospital Entrance to receive care.
