Providence Medical Center has announced that Rogina (Gina)Buhrman, RN, CCRP, Cardiac Rehab Coordinator, has been selected as Providence’s 2025 Caring Kind Award recipient through the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA).
For many years, the Nebraska Hospital Association has recognized Nebraska health care employees who exemplify compassion, service excellence, dedication, and teamwork. Since the program’s beginning, nearly 3,000 of Nebraska’s most caring and committed hospital and health system employees have been honored. Each member hospital may nominate one employee who best represents these values.
Gina has dedicated 24 years of service to Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Nebraska. In her early years, she worked in the Emergency Room, Inpatient, and Obstetrics departments before moving to Outpatient/Specialty Services in 2015. Today, she serves as the Cardiac Rehab Coordinator, holding certification as a Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional (CCRP), while also serving as an Outpatient Clinic RN.
Gina manages the Cardiac Rehab program with skill, grace, and an unmatched level of compassion. She is known for cheering on her patients—sometimes with real pom-poms—as they complete the program, offering both encouragement and humor.
Former patients often stop in to visit Gina, knowing she genuinely cares about their continued well-being.
Throughout her career, Gina has been a leader, mentor, and role model to colleagues across the hospital. A former Service Excellence Advisor, she continues to promote a culture of caring and service throughout Providence. Her quiet strength, big heart, and uplifting personality have left a lasting impact on patients, families, and staff alike.
“Gina is the definition of a Caring, Kind person,” said Carrie Fertig, RN, Director of Outpatient Specialty Services. “She embodies compassion, teamwork, and excellence in all she does. We are proud to honor her with this recognition.”
The Nebraska Hospital Association will recognize Gina and other statewide honorees at the Caring Kind Awards Luncheon during its Annual Convention this fall.
