Ramona J. Puls, 91, of Hoskins died Sunday, March 30, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk.

Services will be held Monday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Church in rural Hoskins. Officiating the services will be Pastor Clark Jenkinson. Inurnment will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Spring Branch Cemetery with family and close friends. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at the Peace Church in rural Hoskins. 

Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.

Ramona J. Puls was born Sept. 30, 1933 in Correctionville, Iowa to Paul and Dorothy (Ashmore) Seavey. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1951. Ramona married Dennis Puls on April 12, 1953 at Grace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Sioux City, Iowa. 

After getting married, the couple farmed, raised livestock, and milked cows in the Hoskins area. Ramona worked in the office at Norco Feeds in Norfolk, for 27 years. Later she was a bank teller at Commercia Federal Bank.

Ramona was a 4-H Leader for 25 years in Wayne County. She was a member of the Ladies Aid at Peace Church. Ramona loved to sing and was part of the “Just for Fun” singing group which sang at area nursing homes. Ramona and Dennis enjoyed belonging to a card club and square dancing with the 49'ers Square Dance Club. In 1986 she won Hoskins Outstanding Citizen award. She and Dennis were members of Peace Church in rural Hoskins for many years.

Survivors include her children, Denise (Gary) Morton of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Renee (Craig) Schnieder of Davey, Nebraska, Dianne (Reg) Gnirk of Hoskins and Russel (Traci) Puls of Hoskins; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and special lifelong friend, Ginny Kleensang.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her parents, Paul and Dorothy;  two brothers, Clifford and Richard, and one nephew, Paul Seavey.

Casket bearers will be Jason Schnieder, Jeff Schnieder, Dylan Puls, Evan Puls, Jared Puls and Dustin Puls.
