Rebecca (Becky) Lea Fritz (Pehrson) was born July 25, 1949 to Stanley and Kathryn (Wickett) Pehrson, and died at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, after her courageous battle with ALS.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Presbyterian Church of the Cross, 1517 S 114th Street in Omaha, with a Celebration of Life from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the United Presbyterian Church, 401 Wakefield Street in  Laurel.

Becky was a bright spirit who loved fiercely and served selflessly; she played organ and piano at the United Presbyterian Church in Laurel for 35 years, then in numerous surrounding area churches to include those in Thurston, Coleridge, Wakefield, and Newcastle until ALS robbed her of the ability.  Her passion for music was surpassed only by her passion for watching her grandchildren grow. She was always their biggest cheerleader. Becky wore her heart on her sleeve and truly was love in action – always reminding her family that “God is Bigger Than the Boogeyman.”

Survivors include her husband David Fritz; children Jennifer (Brian) Penne, Jonathan (Carla) Fritz, and Julia (Spencer) Evers and her grandchildren McKenzie and Kaleb Penne; Christian, Benjamin, and Cadence Fritz; and Brooklynn and Kaitlynn Evers; older sisters Jane (Dennis) Wright and Diane Eickhoff and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Kathryn Pehrson.

Memorials may be sent to ALS in the Heartland, 1915 N 121st Street, Omaha, NE 68154 or Camp Calvin Crest, 2870 Co. Rd. 13, Fremont, NE 68025.
