Resignations, hirings on board agenda

Three resignations and five hirings were on part of Monday's meeting of the Wayne Community Schools' Board of Education.

Resignations came from Kim Anderson, the school's K-5 counselor; Christiana Koeppe, Elementary music teacher and Paige Milliken, Newcomers teacher.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Lenihan told the board that Carlson has experience in a self contained classroom and during the her interview, discussed plans for the classroom.

A presentation from Jacob Daum, Nichelle Daum and Maggie Gubbels, organizers of the annual Spring Sprints event, was part of Monday's meeting, The three, along with Special Education Director Misty Beair, shared information on the annual event, which began in 2012.

On a 4-2 vote the board voted in favor of the 2026-2027 Administrator Renewal Agreement. Board members Lynn Junck and Brent Pick voted against the agreement.

The Wayne Community Schools' Board of Education will next meet in regular session on Monday, March 9 at 5 p.m.
