Annual review and approval of polices on a variety of topics were part of this month's meeting of the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education.

Early in the meeting Greg Ptacek was introduced as the new Wayne Community Schools Foundation Director.

The annual hearing for policies dealing with anti-bullying, student fees, wellness, homeless students and parent involvement was held.

A three-year subscription to Riverside Insight DESSA Screener was approved.

Board committee reports included information on summer activities and work taking place on updating the district's Master Facility Plan.

Following the regular portion of the meeting, the board recessed and then conducted a Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB)  Board Self- Assessment Retreat.

The Wayne Community Schools' Board of Education will next meet in regular session on Monday, July 13 at 5 p.m. in the junior-senior high school library.
