A private family Celebration of Life for Rex A. Burt, 63, of Wayne, formerly of Lincoln, will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.
He died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 at the Wisner Care Center.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Rex Alan Burt was born May 17, 1962 near Bassett, Nebraska to Ronald and Sally (Buckendorf) Burt. He was a graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School. Rex married Mary Luschen June 21, 1985, in Lincoln. Over the years, the couple lived in Arizona and Lincoln for several years before moving to Wayne in 2021. Rex worked as a meat cutter for various grocery stores in the communities where they called home. He loved to spend his time hunting and fishing, enjoying the great outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Luschen) Burt of Wayne; their children, Angel Burt and Rachael Burt of Wayne and Dustin Burt of Lincoln; siblings, Stephanie (Roger) Kessler of Lincoln, Chari Burt of Utah, Mandi (Brandon) Wilson of Lincoln and Matthew (Jackie) Burt of Lincoln; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Rex in death were his grandparents and parents, Ronald Burt and Sally (Buckendorf) Johnston.
