Services for Rhonda L. Hank, 73, of Wakefield will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Wakefield. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery
Rhonda died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to Rhonda’s family for later designation.
Rhonda Lee Hank was born Sept. 6, 1953 in Denison, Iowa to Gerald Leon and Lorraine Maxine (Baker) Jurgensen. She graduated from Denison High School and then from the Lincoln School of Commerce. Rhonda married Gary Hank in Denison, Iowa on March 31, 1973. The couple farmed near Wakefield. Over the years, Rhonda also worked at Heritage Homes in Wayne, Wayne City Hall and then at Northeast Nebraska Power until retiring. In retirement, Rhonda and Gary spent much of their time at Lake Okoboji, Iowa. Rhonda loved having fresh flowers in her home.
Rhonda’s family includes her husband, Gary; daughter, Kristin (Chad) Oletzke of Tea, South Dakota; son, Chad (Holly) Hank of Tea South Dakota; five grandchildren; Caden Hank, Hannah Hank, Claire Hank, Ella Oletzke and Elijah Oletzke; siblings, Robin Meyer of Denison, Iowa, Denise (Bryce) Meeves of Denison, Iowa and Barry Jurgensen of Denison, Iowa; and two of her closest friends, Kristie (Ron) Jelinek of Laurel and Renee (Jim) Schuett of Okoboji, Iowa.
Preceding Rhonda in death were her parents; Gerald and Lorraine Jurgensen; stepfather, Wilbur Groth; aunt, Ruby Johansen; in-laws, Elray and Hazel (Doesher) Hank; in-laws, Charles Meyer, Donn Hank, Jim Hank and Cheri (Hank) (Larry) Mabbitt; great niece, Brooke Bassler and uncle and aunt, Bernard and Linda (Hank) Pehrson.
