Robert A. “Bob” Kenny, 63, of Wayne, formerly of Carroll,  died Monday Dec. 30, 2024 at his home in Wayne.  

Funeral services for will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Carroll United Methodist Church in Carroll. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, also at the church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll.

Memorials may be directed to the Carroll United Methodist Church and the Rock Steady Boxing Program at Providence Wellness Center in Wayne.

Robert Alan “Bob” Kenny was born March 22, 1961 in Wayne to Merlin E. and Margaret Elaine (Woods) Kenny. He graduated from Wayne Carroll High School. As a lifelong farmer, he started farming with his father, Merlin and then bought the homestead from his parents.  Bob married DiAnn M. Shultheis Oct. 12, 1996 at the Carroll United Methodist Church. They farmed for many years near Carroll, living in Bob’s childhood home before Bob retired in 2016 and moved to Wayne in 2020.  Bob was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2006 and then LBD. 

As a member of the Carroll United Methodist Church, Bob served as an Elder and usher for many funerals over the years and an Elmwood Cemetery Board member. He was an original member of the PMC Rock Steady Program. His greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was the best Granddad and loved every moment of being a grandparent.

Survivors include his wife, DiAnn; their children, Jason (Michelle) Shultheis of Kearney, Lucas (Maria) Shultheis of Lincoln   Elizabeth (Matt) Sharer of Wayne, Christopher (Nichole) Shultheis of Carroll, Hannah Kenny of Lincoln, and Holly Kenny (Jake Olsen) of Omaha; grandchildren,  Yasmeen Olivas, Mila Shultheis, Abbey, Casey and Kyle Shultheis, Landen, Mason and Jaylen Sharer; siblings, Ruth (Michael) Gearhart of Omaha, Sally (Arnold) Siefken of Jamestown, North Dakota, Jill  (David) Jones of Caldwell, Idaho, and Joseph (Kelly) Kenny of Carroll; aunt, Bette Hess of Sheridan, Wyoming; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Last but not least his faithful dog, Libby.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, Merlin and Margaret Kenny; brothers, Rick, in 2003 and Jim, in 2018; and niece and nephew, Jade Siefken and Wayne Gearhart.
