Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Jrs/Srs advance to North Division RBL finals thanks to shutout victories

WAYNE – After dealing with back-to-back weather delays, Ralph Bishop League Tournament teams were able to compete in their respective quarterfinal round.

From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, both of the Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 teams have been off for a week and earned first round byes in both North Division tournaments.

#1 Post 43 Srs (18-1) won 5-0 over #4 Wakefield while #1 Rolling Hills Supply Jrs (14-2) also shutout #5 Pierce, 12-0.

In the Seniors outing, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 began scoring with four runs in the second inning. Following a trio of scoreless innings, Wayne added one more run in the sixth to win 5-0 and outhit Wakefield, 8-4.

Wyatt Heikes singled twice, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice while Gavin Redden singled and drove in two runs.

Adrian Contreras and Jase Dean both singled and scored as Calvin Ankeny and Jaxson Kneifl both singled.

Aiden Liston (79 pitches) picked up the win in four and two-thirds allowing four hits while striking out seven batters and walking three. Contreras (26) worked two and a third innings striking out three batters.

Cael Johnson was the top hitter for the Wakefield Post 81 Seniors with a double.

During the Juniors game, Rolling Hills Supply led 1-0 after the first inning followed by a four-run second. After a scoreless third, Wayne added seven more runs in the fourth to win 12-0 and outhit Pierce, 13-1.

Jaxson Kneifl singled twice, tripled, drove in four runs and scored three times; Brayden Rajaee-Hallgren singled twice, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Brodey Munter singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice as Parker Patefield singled twice and scored twice.

Drew Reinhardt singled and drove in two runs; Adrian Contreras singled and scored; Carter Wiese singled as Alex Rodriguez accounted for a RBI and run scored.

Brodrick Tiedtke (79 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in five innings allowing one hit while striking out eight batters, walking three and hitting one.

Other North Division scores from Hartington favored #2 Battle Creek Srs winning 11-3 over #3 Crofton while #2 Hartington Jrs won 7-0 against #3 Crofton.

South Division games were held in Columbus and West Point last Wednesday.

In the Seniors RBL quarterfinal round, #3 Arlington won 10-6 over #2 Lakeview as #4 Pender won 4-2 against #1 West Point.

In the Juniors RBL quarterfinal round, #4 Arlington won 8-5 over #1 Lakeview as #2 Pender won 9-2 against #3 West Point.
