Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Seniors advance to League Finals, Juniors fall to consolation round

WAYNE – North Division Ralph Bishop League American Legion baseball games were held in Wayne Friday evening.

From Hank Overin Field, both Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 teams competed on their home diamond.

#1 Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Srs (19-1) secured an 8-3 win against #2 Battle Creek while #2 Hartington picked up a 5-1 win against the Wayne Jrs (14-3).

In the Seniors outing, Battle Creek held the early 1-0 lead after the first inning followed by -Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 scoring three runs in the second. Battle Creek tied the game at 3-3 thanks to a two-run third.

The Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Seniors then answered with three runs in the fourth and two more runs in the sixth to win 8-3 and outhit Battle Creek, 11-6.

Wayne won their 13th straight.

Kaleb Moormeier singled three times, drove in a run and scored twice; Gavin Redden singled, doubled and drove in two runs as Aiden Liston singled twice and drove in a run.

Jaxson Kneifl singled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Wyatt Heikes singled and scored twice as Jase Dean and Adrian Contreras both singled and scored.

Redden (105 pitches) picked up the win in six and a third innings allowing three runs (one earned) off six hits while striking out seven batters and walking two. Contreras (six) worked two-thirds of an inning striking out one batter.

Earlier this season, Wayne won 7-2 at Pender on June 12 and 11-0 over Pender during the Wood Bat Tournament finals in Wakefield on June 9.

#2 Pender won 10-0 over #3 Arlington in the South Division finals.

During the Juniors game, Hartington scored a run in the first inning and two more runs in the third. Both teams scored a run in the fourth as Hartington added one more run in the sixth.

Final favored the Hartington Juniors winning 5-1 and winning the hit department, 6-5.

Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Alex Rodriguez tripled and scored; Drew Reinhardt doubled and drove in a run while Brodey Munter singled twice.

Brayden Rajaee-Hallgren singled.

Jaxson Kneifl (106 pitches) suffered the loss in five and a third innings allowing four runs (three earned) off four hits while striking out five batters, waling three and hitting two. Gavin Anderson (31) worked an inning and two-thirds allowing one run off two hits while striking out two batters and hitting one.

Arlington suffered a 9-1 loss against #2 Pender in the South Division finals.
