WAYNE – The Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Wayne Seniors closed out home competition last Thursday evening.
From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, Post 43 welcomed ZKE Storage (Seward) during a seniors only outing.
Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 picked up a 3-1 victory to improve to 21-1 and won their 15th straight.
Neither team scored the first two innings until Post 43 recorded a three-run third inning. Following a scoreless fourth, Seward posted a run in the fifth. Rolling Hills Supply Seniors held onto the 3-1 victory despite being outhit, 6-3.
Wyatt Heikes singled, drove in a run and scored while Kaleb Moormeier and Gavin Redden both singled and drove in a run.
Jase Dean and Adrian Contreras both scored.
Heikes (52 pitches) picked up the win in two and a third innings of relief allowing an earned run while striking out five batters, walking three and hitting one. Aiden Liston (22) started the opening two innings allowing two hits while striking out one batter. Redden (31) closed out the final two and two-thirds allowing four hits while striking out three batters and walking one.
Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Wayne Seniors are next scheduled to visit O’Neill on Thursday, July 18 at 5/7 p.m. and play at Blair on Monday, July 22 at 7 p.m.
