Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 wins by run-rule during Sunday elimination round

With their backs up against a wall, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 needed a Sunday win to remain a live in the Class B Area 5 Senior American Legion baseball tournament.

From Neligh Park – Anderson Field in West Point, #1 Wayne took on #3 Battle Creek Post 75 during the afternoon elimination round.

Post 43 secured the 9-1 victory by run rule over Battle Creek. Wayne is now 23-3 on the season.

Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 started with a five-run first inning. Following a scoreless second, Battle Creek put a run on the board in the top of the third.

Wayne added two runs in the fourth and fifth.

Final favored Rolling Hills Supply winning 9-1 and outhitting Battle Creek, 13-5.

Calvin Ankeny singled three times, drove in two runs and scored; Wyatt Heikes singled three times and drove in two runs; Gavin Redden singled twice and scored three times as Kaleb Moormeier doubled.

Adrian Contreras singled and drove in three runs; Jaxson Kneifl singled and scored twice; Alex Rodriguez singled, drove in a run and scored twice as Gavin Anderson singled, drove in a run and scored.

Adrian Contreras (74 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in five innings allowing an earned run off five hits while striking out five batters, walking two and hitting one.
