Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 wins twice over West Point

With a busy early July showcasing several postseason tournaments, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Junior and Senior American Legion baseball teams hosted a mid-week outing.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the West Point Bombers were in town.

In the Seniors outing, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 (17-1) picked up an 8-2 win over West Point.

The Wayne Srs began with a four-run first inning before West Point used a 2-1 advantage in the second. Following a scoreless third, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 scored twice in the fourth and added one more run in the sixth to win 8-2 and outhit West Point, 10-6.

Gavin Redden singled twice, tripled and drove in three runs; Aiden Liston singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored; Adrian Contreras tripled and drove in a run as Wyatt Heikes doubled and scored.

Kaleb Moormeier singled and scored twice; Alex Rodriguez singled, drove in two runs and scored; Calvin Ankeny singled as Jaxson Kneifl scored.

Redden (90 pitches) picked up the win in six innings allowing two earned runs off six hits while striking out eight batters and hitting one. Liston (9) worked the final inning striking out one batter.

During the Juniors game, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 (13-2) held onto the 6-5 victory over West Point.

Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 jumped out front with a run in the first and two more runs in the second inning to lead 3-0. Wayne remained ahead at 4-3 after the third thanks to West Point using a 3-1 advantage. Post 43 added two more runs in the fourth while West Point scored twice in the fifth. Final favored Rolling Hills Supply Jrs winning 6-5 and outhitting West Point, 7-6.

Drew Reinhardt singled, tripled and drove in a run; Brayden Rajaee-Hallgren doubled and scored twice; Alex Rodriguez doubled and drove in a run while Adrian Contreras doubled and scored.

Brodey Munter singled, drove in three runs and scored as Parker Patefield singled and scored twice.

Jaxson Kneifl (92 pitches) picked up the win in four innings allowing five runs off six hits while striking out five batters, walking four and hitting one. Contreras (45) earned the save in the final three innings striking out six batters and walking one.

Both Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 teams have earned the top spot in the Ralph Bishop League Senior and Junior North Division Tournaments.
