BLAIR – Nebraska American Legion posted the official Class B and C Junior Area baseball tournament brackets on Tuesday.
According to a release, these tournaments will start on Friday, July 12 and last through Tuesday, July 16 with a rain date set for Wednesday, July 17.
Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 (15-3) earned the #1 seed in the Area 3 Tournament hosted by Blair. Post 43 will await the winner of either #4 Valparaiso Post 371 or #5 Platte River (Schuyler) at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Valparaiso and Platte River open Area 3 competition on Friday at 2 p.m.
The Post 43 Juniors are coming off a third place finish in the Ralph Bishop League Tournament after winning 9-7 over Arlington on July 6.
The other half of the Class B Area 3 bracket will showcase #2 West Point Post 70 vs. #7 Fort Calhoun Post 348 at 5 p.m. followed by #3 Blair Post 154 vs. #6 Omaha Kelly Ryan Post 1 (Omaha Roncalli) at 8 p.m.
The Class B Juniors State Tournament will be hosted by Waterloo Valley while Class C Juniors State will be in Hartington starting on Saturday, July 20.
The Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 Seniors (20-1) will next host Seward on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m. from Hank Overin Field in Wayne.
The Post 43 Seniors will compete in the Class B Area 5 Tournament hosted by West Point beginning on Friday, July 26.
