Round Robin Showmanship contest returns to Wayne County Fair

Posted

After a year-long wait, the 2025 Round Robin Showmanship Contest was held  July 26, 2026

The contest was originally scheduled for July 27, 2025, but due to extreme heat in 2025, livestock exhibits were released early.

Following the 2025 contest was the 2026 Round Robin Showmanship Contest. The contests provided an opportunity for the Champion and Reserve Champion senior showmen from the 4-H divisions of beef, dairy, goat, sheep, and swine to compete for the best all-around showman honors at the Wayne County Fair.

Serving as judges in each of the areas were: Allison Clausen for beef; John Dickes for dairy; Alexis Schrad for goat; Jaime Koepke for sheep; and Brent Svoboda for swine.

Each of the 4-Hers were asked the same three questions by each of the species judges and then received additional points for how they handled the animal.

The Round Robin Showmanship Contest is in its 27th year at the fair. The plaque is sponsored by the LeRoy Sievers family.

Additional Wayne County fair results can be found in the Section D of the August 20 edition of The Wayne Herald.
