Roy A. Gramlich, 92, of Wayne formerly of Carrol, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 at the Wakefield Health Care Center.
Services and military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Our Savior Lutheran Church Wayne. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Carroll.
Memorials may be directed to the Gramlich Family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Roy Allen Gramlich passed into eternal rest on Nov. 7, 2024 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, where he has been a resident since July 2022. He was born near Millard on Aug. 15, 1932 to Fredrick W. and Alice M. (Grell) Gramlich. He was a 1950 graduate of Millard High School. Roy entered the United States Army during the Korean War, Feb. 24, 1953 and discharged on Dec. 1, 1954. He served at Fort Leonard in Kansas and later Fort Sill in Oklahoma.
Roy married Mildred O. Lambrecht Feb. 24, 1956 at Millard, one year after their first date on Feb. 24, 1955. The couple farmed in the Millard area until moving to a new farm near Carroll in 1971, where they farmed, raised hogs and sheep until 2007. Upon their retirement they moved to Wayne. Roy and Mildred enjoyed traveling and bus tours and attending activities at the Wayne Senior Center.
Survivors include his son and grandchildren, Steve (Cindy) of Ceresco; grandchildren, Jacob (Taylor) Gramlich, Sarah Gramlich and Abby Gramlich; daughter and grandchildren, Sheila (Kevin) Puls of Emerson, Emily (Kai) Wendland; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Wendland and Roran Wendland; sisters-in-law, Lois Lambrecht of Bennington and Janice Lambrecht of Omaha, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred, in January 2016; brother, Leonard (Lorraine) Gramlich; sister, June Rose (Jim) Richardson; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Lambrecht and Donald Lambrecht; parents-in-law, Frank and Opal (Hovendick) Lambrecht.
