Ruth R. Paulsen, 92, of Carroll, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 at Wayne Countryview Care.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at the church. Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Carroll.
Memorials may be directed to Providence Medical Center Hospice and the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Ruth Romaine Paulsen was born July 16, 1932 in Wakefield to Gust M. and Lora Maggie (Habermann) Johnson. She graduated from Carroll High School and attended business school classes in Omaha. Ruth married John A. Paulsen June 11, 1950 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple lived in Carroll most of their lives.
Ruth was employed in Wayne at Dale’s Jewelry and later the Diamond Center as a sales clerk for several years, until her retirement. She was a member of the Women’s American Legion Auxiliary in Carroll for more than 60 years and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron. Ruth and John enjoyed playing cards especially bridge and socializing with friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Angie (Bill) Williams of Omaha; one grandson, Brandon (Jen) Williams of Norwalk, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Williams of Gretna and Chloe Williams; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a sister-in-law, Lola Paulsen of Winside;
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John A. Paulsen in 1996; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Paulsen and Marvin Paulsen.
