From Moorhead, Minnesota, the Wayne State College football team held onto a late comeback winning 27-17 at MSU Moorhead.
The Wildcats (2-2/2-1 NSIC) will next welcome Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, September 27 at 1 p.m. during their annual homecoming game.
Also in Moorhead, MN, #17 Wayne State College volleyball won in four sets at MSU Moorhead (25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-18).
The Wildcats (8-2/2-0 NSIC) will next play three straight home games starting with Augustana at Rice Auditorium in Wayne on Tuesday, September 23 at 6 p.m.
From Louisville, the Wayne softball team played three games during the Cass Wildcats Invite.
The Blue Devils opened with a 3-2 loss against Freeman, followed by a 5-0 win over the host Cass Wildcats and closed holding onto a 4-3 victory with Plattsmouth.
Wayne High softball (14-8) will next visit Ponca on Tuesday, September 23 starting at 6 p.m.
From the Central City Invite, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball was in action for a trio of matches.
LCC began with a 2-0 sweep over Wood River (25-11, 25-16), swept Boone Central (25-23, 25-22) and swept Adams Central (25-16, 25-23) to win the Central City Invite for a second straight year.
The Bears (14-0) will return to action on Tuesday, September 23 at Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk starting at 5:30 p.m.
