Various options for making construction/remodeling projects at Wayne Community Schools were presented during Monday's meeting of the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education meeting.
Bob Soukup with Carlson West Povondra Architects shared with the board an Athletic Master Plan for updating/improving existing portions of the high school and track area.
He also shared information about the need to update restroom facilities on the west side of the building (which would be closer to the gym).
The final portion of the Master Plan would involve work on the west entrance to the high school and the need for additional restrooms and upgraded concession areas.
He told the board he would like to move forward with getting bids for the gym portion of the project by November to lock in 2026 prices and hopefully receive better bids as contractors lock in 2027 projects.
Introduction of new faculty and staff was on the agenda during the meeting.
In other action, the board held public hearings in regard to the Committee on American Civics and Multicultural Education.
The Wayne Community Schools' Board of Education will next meet in regular session on Monday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. in the junior-senior high school library.
