A send-off, complete with a make-shift band and the song "Stayin' Alive" blasting from the speakers, was held outside Wayne High School on Thursday afternoon.
The event was to recognize Laura Hasemann, Frantzdie Barner and Jesus Zavala as they travel to Kearney to take part in the State Cross Country Championship on Friday, Oct. 23.
