Several high school volleyball teams took over Tuesday night along with the Wayne softball team on their home diamond which included a walk-off win.
From Winside, the Wildcats split their home volleyball triangular sweeping Osmond in the opening match (25-21, 25-19) followed by a three set loss to Homer (16-25, 25-18, 20-25). Winside is now 4-7 on the season and will next visit Bloomfield on Thursday starting at 6 p.m.

From the Wayne Softball Complex, the Blue Devils first won 12-4 over Boone Central and used a walk-off two-run homerun to defeat Pierce, 3-1 in the night cap. Wayne High is now 12-7 on the season.
During game one, Lily Gubbels singled twice, double, drove in two runs and scored; Courtney Roeber singled twice, drove in a run and scored three times as Olivia Brandow singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice to lead Wayne. Jordyn Gamble added two RBI.
Gamble (50 ptiches) picked up the win in four innings of relief allowing two runs (one earned) off four hits while striking out six batters.
In the final game, Reagan McGuire recorded a walk-off two-run homerun as she also and scored for Wayne. Lilly Johnson singled, tripled and scored as Kinnley McGuire singled, doubled and scored.
Mackenzie Nissen (85 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in seven innings allowing an earned run off three hits while striking out seven batters.
Wayne will return to the diamond on Saturday during the Cass Wildcats Tournament in Louisville. The Blue Devils will open with Freeman at 10:45 a.m. followed by the host Cass Wildcats at 12:30 p.m.
From Wakefield, the Trojans were swept by Howells-Dodge (12-25, 19-25, 17-25) dropping their sixth straight. Wakefield (1-13) will next visit Pender on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m.

From Laurel, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge recorded their eighth sweep of the season after picking up a 3-0 victory over Neligh-Oakdale (25-9, 25-7, 25-14). LCC (10-0) will next visit Plainview on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. The Bears are also rated #8 in the week three Class C2 volleyball Neb Preps coaches poll.

From West Point, the Wayne High volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at GACC (18-25, 15-25, 15-25). The Blue Devils (7-5) will next visit Lutheran High Northeast on Thursday starting at 5 p.m.
