Sharon Lea (Wade) Christina, 82, of Winside, died on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in Louisville, Neb.

Per Sharon’s wishes, no services will be held.

Memorials may be directed to Wayne Veterinary Clinic, Winside Wayward Cats, or your local animal shelter.

 Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.  

Sharon Lea (Wade) Christina was born June 13, 1941 in Norfolk. Sharon graduated from Winside High School in 1958. She lived in Omaha before moving to Denver, Colorado and living there for many years until retiring back home in Winside.  

She obtained her Cosmetology license and a degree in Medical Transcription. Sharon was a designer at heart. She worked for Estée Lauder and designed and decorated Christmas trees for Kurt S. Adler Inc. for many years. Growing up on a farm, Sharon had a love for animals and was always caring for them, from dogs to cats to birds. Upon retiring in Winside she began caring for the feral cat population. She obtained the needed shots and spayed/neutered hundreds of feral cats, finding new homes for over 70.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s of Norfolk and Louisville Care Center of Louisville for their excellent care of their mother.  

Survivors include two daughters, Tracie Harris (David Hren) of Anchorage, Alaska and Kandis Koozer (Todd) of Gretna; two sisters, Judy Ziemer of Orion, Illinois and Belva Acklie of Norfolk; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and multiple good friends.  

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey; parents, Lyle and Leona (Meyer) Wade; sister, Vicky Thies; three brothers-in-law; a nephew; and a niece.
