Sharon K. Wiebelhaus, 75, of Wayne, formerly of Neligh, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home in Wayne.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Neligh.
Memorials may be directed to Sharon’s family for later designation.

Sharon Kay (Thompson) Wiebelhaus was born Aug. 4, 1950 in Bloomfield, to Henry and Delores (Mohr) Thompson. She grew up on a farm near Creighton and attended country school through sixth grade, then Creighton Community Schools, where she graduated in 1968, as salutatorian of her class. On April 12, 1969 she was united in marriage to Jim Wiebelhaus of Center, at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. They made their home in Neligh and became the proud parents of four children: Shelli, Ryan (deceased), Reagan, and Amy. Sharon provided childcare in her home for many years, then worked at Neligh-Oakdale Elementary School, where she retired in 2008.
Sharon’s grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She spent many hours watching rodeos, dance recitals, wrestling meets, basketball, football, baseball, volleyball and soccer games.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Jim; their children: daughter, Shelli (Chuck) Oborny of Morse Bluff, son, Reagan (Darcy) Wiebelhaus of Springview, and daughter, Amy (John) Miller of Wayne; 10 grandchildren: Bailey and Brayden Oborny, Miah, Hunter, Beau, and Zachary Wiebelhaus, and Merrick, Brinley, Beckett, and Maesynn Miller; sister, JeAnne Coenen; brother, Dale (Elaine) Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry (Bud) and Delores Thompson; infant son, Ryan; sister, Linda Cheyney; brother, Robert Thompson; and father-and-mother-in-law, Herman and Walburga Wiebelhaus.
