A short meeting, with plans to reconvene scheduled for Wednesday afternoon (July 20), took place for the Wayne County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.

Prior to the start of the meeting, the group met as the Wayne County Board of Equalization to discuss several topics.

Wayne County Assessor Dawn Duffy presented to the board the county's three-year assessment plan and noted it was the same as it was last year.

The plan was approved unanimously.

Also approved was the Cemetery Property Ownership and Usage Report, a personal property tax correction and the Over and Under  Valued Property Report.

The commissioners approved three Lodging Tax Grant Applications.

These included $500 for advertising for the Cars-N-Carroll Vendor/Craft Show on Sept. 25; $500 for advertising for the Gene Topp Memorial Car Show which was held June 19 and $1,000 for advertising for Bressler-Fest Music in the Park series to take place each of the four Sundays following Labor Day.

A representative from NorthFork Area Transit was scheduled to make a presentation on setting up a transit route into Wayne County. However, no one attended the meeting.

Approval was given for a rental agreement for use of ATVs and golf carts at the Wayne County Fair. The rental fee will be $25 per day.

Commissioner Terry Sievers said it was wise to have an agreement in place with the county for insurance purposes.

The Commissioners were scheduled to reconvene on Wednesday for an informational meeting with Navigator CO2 Pipeline representatives.

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners will next meet in regular session on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 9 a.m.
